Katie Deans

Hi! My name is Katie Deans, and I’ve been practicing calligraphy and hand lettering for the last couple of years. I currently work part-time as a mental health counselor, and in the past have been an elementary school counselor. A little over a year ago, I opened a shop on Etsy - Chosen Ink - to sell hand lettered art prints with the goal being to help raise money for my husband and I to adopt our first child. We adopted our little girl earlier this year, and now as a (mostly) stay at home mom, I’ve continued running Chosen Ink, creating and selling hand lettered stationary, ornaments, stickers, and more. In teaching hand lettering and brush calligraphy, I hope to help others realize their own creativity and understand that they don’t have to have years of formal training to create fun and beautiful hand lettered art!
