Messy Hearts Collage Project, Choose from 2 sessions, Saturday January 31, 1-3 pm or 3:30-5:30 pm, $45

$45.00

Messy Hearts Collage Project (offered twice in February) $45

January 31, choose 1-3:00 or 3:30-5:30 (2 sessions)

Ages 18+

In this mixed media workshop, you’ll create an expressive work of heart on a 4×8 wood panel using paint, collage elements, mark-making, and richly layered texture. This small but substantial surface is perfect for intuitive exploration, allowing you to work freely without the pressure of a large canvas while still creating a finished piece that feels meaningful and complete.

We’ll explore how to build layers, combine materials, and respond to the work as it unfolds rather than aiming for perfection. The sturdy wood panel welcomes experimentation, scraping, stamping, drawing, and reworking, making it an ideal surface for bold color choices, tactile details, and personal symbolism. You’ll be encouraged to follow your instincts, embrace imperfections, and let the process guide the final outcome.

This is a relaxed, process-focused class designed to help you loosen up, quiet your inner critic, and reconnect with the joy of making. Whether you’re new to mixed media or have years of creative experience, you’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind piece and fresh ideas you can carry into future work.

All supplies are provided, no prior experience is required, and every style and skill level is welcome. Come as you are and create from the heart.

Taught by Michelle Werl.
